This is the Way We Go to School
Author: Edith Baer
Illustrator: Steve Bjorkman
Awards: None
Grade Level: K-2nd
Summary: There are many ways that kids all around the world get to school. Some ways are familiar to us like walking, by car, bus and even bikes where as others get to school by skiing, boat, train and a vaporetto. Follow these children from around the world and find where they are from and how they get to school!
Evaluation: This is a fun book! I love reading and seeing the different cultures around the world displayed in this book. I think this would be a great read aloud, especially if there are students from different parts of the world in my class who can tell us how they went to school where they lived. This would also be a fun way for younger students to learn how they get to and from school at the beginning of the year when they are given their necklaces or badges to let them know their Bus numbers or if they go to daycare where they need to go.
