Summary:

The Titanic was the largest ship ever built during its time and was believed to be unsinkable. There were over 2000 people on the ship which were divided between first, second and third class; however, there were not enough life boats to account for every life on the ship. On night three the Titanic struck an ice berg which caused 6 scrapes to the ship which led to its sinking. The first SOS signal was sent and the Carpathia was the only near by ship to receive it as it happened at night where other ships crew would be sleeping. This disaster led to a new law that required ever ship to have a night crew to watch for SOS signals as well as provide life boats for every passenger and crew member on the ship. Years later, a team was able to locate the Titanic on the bottom of the ocean floor to examine what really happened to the Titanic sinking and also retrieve artifacts that could be placed in museums for others to remember the lives of the people that were aboard the ship.

Evaluation:

This was an interesting read with a ton of information! I will say that it could be organized a bit better to allow for an easier read. I would recommend this be a book for students to have available for them to read a non fiction book, especially since it was an eyewitness reader and I remember loving them when I was a child.
